CEDAR

Age: 3.5 years oldBreed: Mastiff MixEnergy: Low to medium Weight: 100 lbsSpay/Neuter: Yes
InformationDogs: Needs proper intro, does better with malesCats: NoKids: Yes but is more comfortable around older kids 10+ recommended Crate Trained: YesHouse Trained: YesAny Aggression (food or other): Comes from an abusive past, therefore when scared she does react with fear aggression. Needs a quieter household with a strong leader who she can trust and feel safe with.Any other issues: Prefers male dogs over females
"Hello everyone, I am so excited to introduce myself. My name is Cedar and I am an energetic girl who loves to play!
I had a bit of a rough start to life as my previous life had some abuse on my previous pet parent and me. Which makes me nervous is negative situations but I’ve become really good at staying calm when my rescue mom is by my side because I know she will keep me safe. I've had a blast playing with my step brothers Jax and Kane. They can sure tire me out! Those dudes don't stop playing. While I could live with another brother my size, if I am being 100% honest I would absolutely love to be the only animal in the house so that I can take all the love and pets for myself. I do get jealous of other dogs and can be reactive.
I have been with my rescue mom for awhile now and as much as I am living a good life with them, I am ready to find my forever family. I am looking for a family who has breed experience and see's the value in consistent training and working their dog. While my leash skills are good, I was under socialized in my early years so when we see other dogs they can sometimes scare me so I bark at them, but don't worry I am a really quick learner and I get so much joy from it! I know some basic commands and would love to learn more!
Oh! It would be wonderful if my forever family liked to get out on adventures because I love taking in all the new smells and fresh air!"
Cedar is very smart so takes to training very well, which is great as this has continued to help her progress with building confidence. Because she can be timid or shy, she would do amazing in a home with a confident dog (preferably male) in the house to take their lead on things. Also she needs an experienced dog handler to lead her.She cannot be in a hectic home or a home with people who are not gentle with her. Due to her abuse in her pass, a home with hand raising and yelling will cause Cedar to be reactive. This is whe she gets in survival mode. She absolutely needs a calm home with limited guest.

HANS
Available for adoption, foster or foster to adopt
Breed: Rottweiler Weight: approx 100lbsGender: MaleSpayed/Neutered: Yes Neutered Age: 3 years oldReason for Intake: Owner Surrender Medical (shots etc): NoneGood with dogs: NoGood with cats: NoGood with kids: NoGood with strangers: NoGuarding Issues: yes has resource guarding with toys, bones, food and beds.House Trained: YesCrate Trained: YesDestructive: NoLeash skills: Great! Okay with manipulations: YesKnown commands: Sit, stay, no, drop it, down, pawBehaviour Issues: Hans is a great dog once he knows and trust you. He used to have severe stranger danger. But with lots of work and teaching him how to socialize properly, he can now be around people. But they should not try and pet him until he knows them. Therefore he needs to meet someone several times before he is not untrusting and feels more comfortable. Other Observations: Once Hans trust you, he's a big goofy guy. Who loves to play, chase and snow is his favorite thing to role in and eat. Hans cannot go to a hectic household or with many people in the home. He would be best suited for a person who's very experienced with the breed and his behavior issues. Not for a novice owner. Hans will bond with his people and will be protective. He is great on a leash, loves being outside. He doesn't really bother with dogs outside his kennel, but is reactive to dogs in his kennel. His resource guarding is quite bad and he cannot have toys, bones or beds and blankets. We do give him raw bones at dinner time in his crate so by morning it's all gone and his aggression isn't there. Food aggression is bad as well. He gets fed in his crate, will sit and give paw before we feed him. Once the bowl is down, if anyone is near him, he will growl. Best to leave him eat in his crate.Being Rottweiler means he is strong, and smart. I talk to him often and he enjoys conversations while on walks on getting some cuddle time. Hans will be an amazing dog with the right people. He has tons if love to give and loves his people. For a dog who is 3, he still has tons of play energy to interact with his people.
If you're looking for a dog who will be loyal and protective, but also have a soft side for you, Hans is the guy for you!

WINSTON
Available for adoption, foster or foster to adopt
Name: WinstonBreed: Akbash/Pyrenees mixWeight: approx 100 to 120lbsGender: MaleSpayed/Neutered: will be after April 29thAge: 1Good with dogs: NoGood with cats: No Good with kids: Best with older kidsGood with strangers: Needs proper introduction Guarding Issues: NoHouse Trained: YesCrate Trained: YesDestructive: NoLeash skills: Good, been working on it since he arrived. Will need consistency on proper walking leash skills.Okay with manipulations: YesKnown commands: Sit, leave itBehaviour Issues: He's reactive to alot of things, vehicles driving by, other dogs, small animals and does have what I call toddler tantrums when told no. Or is corrected. Will need a strong leader, firm and understanding of his Breed.Medical issues: nonOther Observations:Winston is a sweet oversized pup when he's comfortable with you. As mentioned above, he is reactive while on a leash, but with the right training (we currently have one in place for him and will continue to be a support after adoption) he will continue to strive and be successful. He was isolated and not much socialization which as led to his reactivity. So he will need time. He will need someone patient. He loves to run, to play and absolutely loves his people. Winston is your typical extra large pup. Has no clue of his size just knows he wants to have fun.The only time he is aware of his size, when he reacts to things.Winston is bested suited for a home out in the country or a quiet more private area. City life or a busy street is not for this guy. With a loving family and home, Winston will grow into an amazing mature boy. Right now he's in puppy mode and wants to discover the world. But needs the right people to make those adventures safe and fun for him. Yes even reactive dogs can go on adventures!Winston will need constant grooming, his hair is super long and one day of not brushing him, he starts to get tangles. So it's important to know grooming is needed daily for this guy.Not for a novice owner, Winston is best suitable for experienced dog owners. Especially someone who's comfortable and familiar with reactivity.

He doesn't know how to turn off his switch once in play mode. We have been working in this for a few months and when properly exercised and stimulated he plays much calmer. He also jumps when excited, we correct it everytime. He's starting to catch up that jumping is not acceptable. Medical issues: NoneOther Observations: Apollo will need a home with lots of land to roam, explore and play on. He's not the type of dog to live in an apartment or small home. With his energy level he needs tons of room and lots of outdoor play space. Apollo will need alot of daily exercise to tire him out and stimulation to keep him grounded. But the biggest thing, he needs a home where he ll have a job. He is a working breed and needs a structured home where he can utilize his skills and knowledge to keep him busy and focus.Apollo is a sweet dog who just wants to please and enjoy life. He may be small but he has tons of energy to use up. Need a hiking buddy, he's there! Need a swimming buddy, he's there! Need a camping buddy, he's got you! He's the dog you want when you have an active lifestyle and need a companion and best friend who can keep up. Apollo needs an experienced dog owner who also knows his breed and has knowledge of working dogs. He's not for a novice dog owner. Or first time dog owner.

PATRICK
Available for foster to adopt or adoption
Name: PatrickBreed: Dachshund/MixGender: MaleWeights: 24 lbsAge: 6 yearsGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: YesGood with kids: Yes - better living with older respectful kids Housetrained: YesCrate trained: YesLeash Trained: In ProgressEnergy level: Low-MediumPrey Drive: NoSpay/neutered?: Yes
Patrick and siblings were taken in by a self rescuer when younger. She took really good care of them, almost too good care because they were overweight when they came to us. We have had them on weight maintenance food and exercise. They have trimmed down a little and look much healthier and a lot more active. Neighbors called ACS on her because she had more dogs than allowed in the city limits. We stepped in and took them into our care to help find homes for them and save their lives.Patrick is a shy boy at 1st. He was very reliant on his sister and would follow her lead to do anything. We felt it was important that he learned to be an independent dog, Therefore we separated them and placed his sister already in Canada. He does great with other dogs of all sizes. He has been around little kids from the age of 2 to 6 and does good as long as they don't scare him. If they do, he will run and find a place to hide. . He does fine with cats.He is shy of new people when he 1st meets them. It takes them a couple days to start warming up and come out of his shell in new environments. He is treat motivated.Patrick was awesome with someone who is willing to let him move at his own pace. He needs someone to help him build his confidence in himself.
